I created a new blog site…I paid for an upgrade, including a domain name. I tried to login to acquire a theme, etc and the site rejects my user name, email address and password. I did not receive a wordpress confirmation email. I went in a tried again and this time I was able to log in however, my account does not register that I purchased the upgrade nor does my domain name that I bought work. My cc shows that I was charged.
Can you help sort this all out?

The domain I bought is: vtcounseling.com.

    Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks! So, the plot thickens…I did a dufus thing and won’t go into the details except to say that I already owned the domain vtcounseling.com through godaddy…so how wordpress offered the name to me in the first place is a mystery. What I am looking for now is to cancel my upgrade but can’t because wordpress acts as if I never purchased it!

    signed,
    dazed and confused.

    Hello there!
It looks like you have registered a domain on Godaddy.com but you didn’t map it here on WordPress. You need to map your external domain on WordPress. See the instructions http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

    Thanks and yes, you’re right!

However, I have a bigger problem in that wordpress charged my credit card $99 to upgrade my account but my account does not show any upgrade. I either need someone to activate the upgrade or, refund my $99. Are you on the wordpress team and if not, do you know how I contact someone to help with this?

    Look here please:
    Dashboard > Store My Upgrades
Dashboard > Store > Billing History

As hnsaifi said above: If you would like to use your domain you will first need to purchase a domain mapping upgrade http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/ set up domain mapping. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

After you make the domain mapping purchase here > Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades and do the primary blog set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

P.S. Sometimes bloggers think paying for an upgrade means the implementation happens by magic. This is not the case. In every case after you pay you must act to implement the features you purchased via upgrades. http://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/pro-bundle/

    Dashboard > Store My Upgrades
Dashboard > Store > Billing History

This is exactly my problem When I go to myupgrades/billing history, it shows nothing…no upgrade purchase, no billing history so I cannot cancel if I want because there is nothing to show that I purchased it in the first place. Only the charge on my credit card shows something different.

Also, according to the upgrade, I show not have to pay an additional $ to map my domain, right?

All I need at this point is to cancel my purchase. : /

Please don’t overreact. Do you have more that one username account and were you logged into a different one when you made the purchase?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, I do and no, I wasn’t. Already checked.

Can you guide me to someone that can either cancel my upgrade purchase or institute the upgrade to my vtcounseling account?

PS. I mapped vtcounseling.com to wordpress.
