  Hey all

  I am brand new to the world press world. I was wondering if someone can help me get started. I want to design sites for people to use with links and all. Can someone guide me on this or tell me where I can read a detailed instruction for it.

  First off, you need to be clear on the differences between wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ .

  Secondly you need to set yourself up a blog and work with it for a while and figure it all out. There really isn’t much need for “site design” here at wordpress.COM as it is so dead easy that virtually anyone can get a blog up and running in a matter of a half-hour or less. From the time I signed up for a blog here till I had my first post published was about 5 minutes, and with the incredible support section here at wordpress.COM, virtually anything you need to know about using wordpress.COM is right at your fingertips – just a search of the support pages away.

  Self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are wide open and can be extensively customized, but again with the incredible number of themes and plugins available for self-hosted wordpress blogs, almost anything one would want to do is already available as a plugin.

  If you want detailed instruction on using and optimizing a WordPress.com blog, I’m happy to help. As tsp says, it won’t take long. But I do charge $150 an hour, with an hour minimum.
