Are you referring to your username account? What you describe seems to indicate a “session expiration” problem. The article How to Fix WordPress Keeps Logging Out Problem may be helpful.
See also the Session expired, just like that! forum topic.

If the above is not helpful, you may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.

@musicdoc1
Please do not refer blogger here to that site. It is for WordPress.ORG installs and confuses our bloggers. -
@philkendall
If you are referring to a wordpress.COM hosted blog and keep being prompted to confirm your account or email address when you have already done so, then this is a bug that annoys many new bloggers. I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it. -

philkendall, I don’t think anyone in this thread pissed off by you, I’m sorry if anything came across that way.
musicdoc1 offered to help with an incorrect document, timethief stopped by to point out that was inaccurate and flagged the thread for staff attention, and I fixed your problem, that’s all.

@ macmanx, @ philkendall,
I definitely wasn’t upset. Thought the issue might the the result of third-party cookies not being accepted, a browser setting issue. I also thought that the following from the article at the first link I provided might point to the cause.WordPress sets a cookie in your browser to authenticate a login session. This cookie is set for the WordPress URL stored in your settings section. If you are accessing from a URL that does not match the one in your WordPress settings, then WordPress will not be able to authenticate your session
I thought this might apply whether it was a WordPress.com or WP.org site. For example, session expiration has occurred to me when I was logged into one account, yet working in an administrative area (e.g. post editor) of another account on which the first account was assigned as an administrator, yet isn’t the owner. I don’t know if this still occurs, but it has happened many times in the past.

…but it has happened many times in the past.
Or I might be misremembering and conflating two separate issues.

That could have certainly been a possibility, but in that case it would have been better to recommend https://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/ rather than a site that focusses on WordPress.org instead. ;)
