Help a rookie out…few questions.
-
All,
First off, I am a novice at WordPress and appreciate any help provided. I am looking to change the cosmetics of my blog. I think there is too much white space. I would love to have a “books read” widget or part. Also, is there a way to get a link to my Facebook, Linkedinn, and Twitter accounts on the right hand side as well?
My About Me page has some issues. It is mainly because of the spacing. I want the text to not wrap against the logos used but simply return a few more lines and start fresh. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks in advance.
Regards and Happy Easter.

The site linked to your name is not a blog hosted at wordpress.com, so we can’t help with that. If you have one and it’s the blog in question, please link it to your name instead.
Otherwise, you’ll need to get help at wordpress.org/support. A forum sticky explains the differences between wp.com and wp.org.

Stu, my apologies. My navbar didn’t show the first time I looked at your blog and that’s the quickest indicator whether someone is in the right place. You are, mea culpa.
Check your widgets to do many of the things you mentioned. Search the FAQ/Support docs for more on widgets and a forum search for additional information.
This should solve your text problem:

Ellaella,
Sorry the link did not work. The site is hosted by wordpress and is http://www.wordpress.stumcmullin.com or simply stumcmullin.com.

If there isn’t a prefabricated widget that does what you want, you can use a text widget:

The link I gave you just worked for me, Stu. Took a moment, but it worked. btw, there are no Ws in your url. It is, I would guess, http://stumcmullin.wordpress.com.

Ellaella,
YES! Thank you for the link to the other topic! That did the trick and after some fixing, I think the section looks a ton better.
I will check out your other links and suggestions as well. Much appreciated!
