Help adding Twitter follow button

I can’t find this answer anywhere. Sorry, I know it must be here somewhere but I’ve been searching for ages. Every answer assumes that I know stuff I seriously don’t know. So.
I want to add a Twitter ‘follow’ button on my wordpress page. (I’m new to Twitter.) It seems like I’m halfway there, but then instructions assume that I know what certain things are etc. For example, one says ‘paste the twitter code into your page html’. I have no idea how to do this. html?? Searching again and again through wordpress help and then basic google searches gets me no clearer. I’m sorry, I know this must be a mega pain for you guys, but I really truly just cannot figure the thing out. I’m young but not tech connected/savvy. Opening the Twitter account was an attempt to start changing that–now I’m regretting the whole thing. Please help. All the instructions assume I know the terminology and how to navigate through it! I’ve honestly tried, no dice. So sorry, hope you can help!
