Help…. Can't access my sites!!!
-
Hello, a while ago my Hosting package with Just Host ran out. As my sites are based on WordPress blogs and I have a login here, I haven’t bothered saving them. They are still visible here in my account – under my sites – but I can’t view or access the previous content. Can anyone help me retrieve it please? It appears to be there but I can’t access it. I may renew my hosting package but if I can’t retrieve it I may make different arrangements.
Also – does anyone have deets to access WordPress directly? I can’t find a contact number or email address and the form takes me directly onto this public forum :-(
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
That sounds very frustrating indeed, however, we don’t provide the support you need here at wordpress.COM.Jetpack is a plugin used by WordPress.ORG bloggers to achieve parity with what we already have built into WordPress.COM blogs. A wordpress.COM account is required to run the Jetpack plugin, but we do not provide Jetpack support on these wordpress.COM support forums. Please direct Jetpack issues to where they can get Jetpack support.
re: Jetpack support
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
However, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-serviceWordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

Thanks… still a little confused as I signed in under my wordpress.com account and they are visible there. I will try the .org link.
How did you know they were under jetpack, I didn’t mention jetpack in my original post?

I answer lots of questions (10 years of answering questions here) and I can usually ascertain what`s actually meant.
This was the clue:
They are still visible here in my account – under my sites …

Hello timethief, is it ok to offer to help or service in the forums? is it ok to leave url?
-
is it ok to leave url?
No. Anyone can help in any thread but no cannot use your answers in any support threads to promote sites.
-
If you want to answer questions here at wordpress.COm then you have to be keenly aware of all the differences between wordpress.COM hosted sites and wordpress.ORG software installs.
Do not ever post a wordpress.ORG solution and or links to wordpress.ORG solutions into wordpress.COM support threads.

@demond1
I hope you read me between the lines. The last thing we need here is yet another Volunteer, who is all hopped up on wordpress.ORG answers, and thinks we WordPress.COM Volunteers here dont know anything about wordpress.ORG blogging (thats NOT the case), and starts posting advice that does not apply here. Doing that causes confusion, frustration and even anger as those posting here are looking for wordpress.COM help. It also peeves off the Volunteers like me who do know the differences between the two when we have to ghost every thread a new Volunteer posts into and have to correct them over and over again. -

Good.@tamarwhyte
Please accept my apology for the off-topic conversation in this thread.
Best wishes with your self-hosted sites. -
I completely get that I’ve somehow blundered onto the wrong support forum, but ultimately I need some help. Are you able to pm me and point me in the right direction as opposed to contaminating a dot com with dot org advice…??? 😳
