Help! can't figure out oxygen theme

I am really having trouble with this oxygen theme and figuring out how to work out the menus. Right now, I am trying to get the little black box with a custom menu to pop up. I read in a previous forum that to get the black box, I had to go through WP admin and make a primary menu, so I did that. Now where it used to say all my pages (home/about/blog/loans/etc.) it says what I want it to say in the black box. Please let me know how to fix this! Thanks!

Oops, forgot I had it private while it is under construction. I ended up fixing the problem though, turns out I just needed to make it a secondary menu instead of primary to get the black box! Thank you though and I appreciate you trying to help!

how do I get rid of sidebar stuff on my different pages? Am I even able to do this so my pages aren’t filled with the clutter that I want on my strictly on my home page?

You want sidebar widgets to appear only on your homepage, is that correct? If so, then modifying the visibility of each relevant widget to “Show if Page is Home Page” should do the trick.
