help!! Can't find post in autosave but I know i updated.

  HELP!
  The post I’ve been working on disappeared from the autosave. I updated, then I previewed, and it was there on the site, and then I went into autosave and it was there making comparisons. But then when I went back to my edit page an older version of the post was there. I was afraid of losing my work so I think I opened another browser and went to my site to copy and paste. Did this cause the problem>

  help please! how do I get my post back?

  If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.

  But if the post was created here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ there is no means of recovery as the auto-save is not functioning there.

  Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
  Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
  The auto-save works there and the post will be Standard post format unless you change it.

  Do not create posts here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ where the auto-save is not working and where you are creating an Aside post format.

  Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

  I created it in the dashboard. I updated. I previewed it. I looked in the autosave, because I’m new to wordpress and didn’t get what they were asking me to restore. It was in the autosave. I wanted to copy and paste but couldnt. I went back to dashboard and it showed me the old version and not my new work.

  So it was saved, but now its gone. Please tell me it’s hiding somewhere. I looked everywhere, is there a way you can retrieve it?

  If you cannot locate a post revision and it’s not in your Trash then it’s gone.
