Help, can't get theme templates working
-
Hello, I’m new and started testing a theme template, adding my own images deleting some, but before I could realize when changing themes there are missing elements that should be there as advertised by the theme.
I tried many ways of deleting anything that I customized, trying to reverse to default so when changing between themes to work normally.
This made it even worse, now I can’t use the pre-build structures of themes templates, they are clearly incomplete and images are not the sameI’ve deleted everything, even accidentally deleted my address site name and had to recover it.
Is there a way to undo to default a web page in WordPress?
I’m not a specialized web designer so any help is deeply appreciated, thanksThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi! I don’t work for WordPress but it sounds like you just need to create a new page all together using the “Add Page” button.
On the side menu bar, go to “Sites” – “Pages” and then look for the red “Add Page” button. You can choose a new blank template from there.
Then back out to the “pages” section where you found the red button. Look for the three dots next to the page you just created. Click that and there should be an option to “set as homepage.”
I think this should help your problem as you are describing it. If not, don’t feel frustrated. This can be overwhelming at times! You’ll make it through.

Thank you very much jamsterfly!
All good until the three dots step: it doesn’t appear the “set as homepage”. All I see is (translating some words to english, somehow wordpress is crossing my different languages) in order: “Edit”, “Show Page”, “Statistics”, “Copy page”, “Copy link”, and “Trash”. No trace of “set as homepage”.
I’ve been messing around and yes, this new page (the only one showing in “pages” menu) it’s not the actual “home” address ( lolanurca.wordpress.com ) but one with “/lola-nurca/” added at the end.Maybe it’s related to that before all this problems I followed the instructions help and erased all pages and everything else except my address name site?
I work in technical arts if any help I can offer back in return here’s my main social place: http://www.youtube.com/user/capullu01

Ah that is my mistake. I forgot to mention you need to publish the page first to be able to have the option to “set as homepage”
Up in the right hand corner of the page while your editing you should see the option to “Publish” the page in blue text, possibly next to the launch button. Click that and then back out to where you found the three dots.
Under the “Pages” header you should see “Published” “Drafts” “Scheduled” and “Trashed”. The page you just published should be under the “Published” section. Click there, then select the three dots again.
The “set as homepage” option should appear at this point.
If it doesn’t it may be related to the erasing of things. However, I am sure there is a way to fix it.
Thank you for your offer to help! I’m also an amateur photographer so I may take you up on that! https://www.instagram.com/floatinghatphotography/

Somehow I managed to navigate through the “customize” page menus and set the New template theme page as the homepage. I can see how to start building with more templates pages one by one.
But the question was, there’s no way I can apply a whole theme with its own default template “pages” as before?
At the beginning worked without problem, seeing how fast WordPress escalates complexity I’m interested in a sort of “factory reset” to follow a step by step tutorial without carrying all this mess.
Any ideas please? -
Just read your answer, mmmm I did published in fact and I think still can’t see the “set as homepage” option but instead know that I managed to link it to the “address” ( lolanurca.wordpress.com ) it appears greyed out in the bottom as “This page is set as your site’s homepage”.
Strange, but anyway you helped me out of the hole! I was almost considering abandoning the project.
Thanks a lot! -
Glad you didn’t abandon the project! Can’t tell you how many times I thought the same haha.
I’ve had a couple of issues in the same way. I’ve deleted a couple sites and just started whole new ones, 2 or 3 times now I think. Click “switch site” on the far left top corner and then there should be a selection for “add a new site.”
You should be able to start a new website in a de-facto “factory reset” that way if you are still interested.
Anyway though, I’m glad I could help you out of that hole! Good luck!

Yeah, I did test creating a new site, default worked as usual, the problem is that I crippled this site with the address name of a writer ( this project is for a writer) and the address name is untouchable, earlier today I even erased the address to create a new site from 0 only to check that WordPress won’t let me use it again with the exact name, by balls it added some numbers behind, in the free version; so luckily contacted them by mail responding a rutinary mail they send when an address is erased, and finally WordPress restored the writer’s name.
But now I’m stucked with the previous mess, “mess”, just trying to edit jeez! hahaha -

Ok, so just to check, this is: https://lolanurca.wordpress.com/ ?
What are you trying to achieve with this website?
I’d love to help if I can.
Many thanks in advance.
