HELP can’t login to LOCAL installation of WordPress

  Hi there everyone! A bit of an overall IT newbie here..
  Using Linux Mint 18; installed LAMP and WordPress, all seemed to go well (using the guide here )
  At the last setps, in the WP web interface, created a user and password. However, unable to log in. There might be a slight chance that I misspelled either username or password, in this case how do I go back a step and re-create user? Or – did something else go wrong?

  Installing WordPress locally means you are using self hosted WordPress.org software rather than WordPress.com:

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
