Here is my problem :I’m building a woocommerce shop in french.
But when I publish a Printify product on my website, I have the attribute in English (see the picture attached).
I cannot for the life of me find out how to have se sizes and colors translated in French.
Eveything else is fine, just the attributes are a probleme. I tried Loco translate but it didn’t work.Do some of you had the same problem ? What can I do to have these attributes in french ?
I wrote to printify but they can’t do nothing.

Thank y’all in advance

Hi @mwanodigital,
That sounds right. When you publish products from Printify to your WooCommerce store, the attribute names like size and color are sent in English by default, and they aren’t automatically translated into French.
To address this, you have a few options:
- Go to Products → Attributes in your dashboard and manually rename the attribute names. For example, change “Color” to “Couleur” and “Size” to “Taille.” This change will apply across products using those attributes.
- Use a multilingual plugin like WPML (https://wpml.org) or TranslatePress (https://translatepress.com), which allow you to translate product attributes and other dynamic content.
- Alternatively, after a product is synced from Printify, you can manually edit the product and update the attribute labels to French.
Unfortunately, Printify doesn’t offer a built-in way to localize these terms during the sync, so using a plugin or manual edits is the most reliable solution. Hope this helps!

Hi Dany,
Thanks for these solutions.
I tried the miltilingual plugin but none of them seems to be able to find and translate the Attribute.
Speaking of which, when I tried to change manually the attribute in my product page, then, nothing works anymore (i cannot put the product in the cart because it says that nothing matches).
If I go to the Product => Attribute, page there is absolutely nothing, like no attributes where created.

Hi @mwanodigital,
Could you please share the URL to your product where you tried to manually change the attribute? I tried looking for a site on your WordPress.com account; however, I wasn’t able to find any WordPress.com sites.
For the attributes, could you please ensure they have been created as global attributes, have been saved and added to the product? We have a step-by-step guide on that here: https://woocommerce.com/document/managing-product-taxonomies/#how-to-add-edit-product-attributes
If you prefer to use a translation plugin, I found a third-party plugin called WooCommerce Multilingual which looks like it can translate attributes here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/
They have documentation on how to set it up here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/#taxonomies

Hi @mwanodigital,
Thanks for sharing the link, but we weren’t able to view the product at https://familicosm.fr/produit/model-t-shirt-homme — it looks like the site might be under construction or restricted.
That said, we’re a bit surprised to hear that translation plugins haven’t worked — in many cases, translation support for product attributes is managed through add-ons. For example, WPML offers a dedicated add-on called WooCommerce Multilingual, which supports attribute translation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/
It might be worth double-checking if the plugin you’re using includes support for attributes or if an additional module is needed.

If you’re using Printify with WooCommerce and need to change product attributes, you’re not alone—many store owners run into this when trying to better match their print-on-demand products with WooCommerce’s inventory system. Printify automatically syncs product details such as size, color, and style when you publish a product to WooCommerce. However, these attributes can sometimes be limited or formatted in a way that doesn’t fit your storefront’s structure. To customize them, you’ll often need to edit the product directly in WooCommerce after it’s been pushed from Printify, or use a plugin that allows bulk editing of attributes.
One important note: if you manually change product attributes in WooCommerce, any future updates or re-syncs from Printify may override your edits. To avoid this, it’s a good idea to finalize your attribute setup in Printify before publishing to your WooCommerce store. Alternatively, you can duplicate the product in WooCommerce, make the necessary attribute changes, and then disable syncing for that product on Printify. This ensures your custom attributes stay intact while maintaining control over the product listings on your site.
