Help changing WordPress blog name and associated Domain name

    I’m very new to blogging and have decided that I want to change the name of my blog. I’m hosted on BlueHost and I’m trying to read up on how to make the change as seamless as possible. Any help is greatly appreciated. I’m a bit nervous I’d screw it up. I don’t have too many posts yet and wanted to get it done before I add too many more. TIA

    If you are hosted on BlueHost that means you are using self-hosted version of WordPress called WordPress.org.

    Please first read the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

    And then head to WordPress.org forums to get help with your question. Please note that you cannot use your WordPress.com account to login to WordPress.org forums. So you have to create a new account on WordPress.org to be able to login and post to their forums.

    This forum is only to help WordPress.com users.

    That site is not a blog hosted by WordPress.COM, and we cannot help you as we do not provide support for any blogs that are not hosted by WordPress.COM.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

    Hi timethief, I do have a WordPress.com blog and my wordpress blog has a Domain of the same name which is hosted by BlueHost. I know that I need to rename them separately and I am looking for help from someone who’s done it before and can guide me in the sequence. Thanks!
