Help! Complete loss of keyboard tools

All the keyboard typing icons have disappeared from my Writing page: there’s no way of changing type face, italicising, adding colour, et cetera.
Composed a draft blog yesterday, opened it today to a mass of hieroglyphics, no photographs that were added, and no keyboard icons. I can’t create a new essay.
Can anybody help?

Are you working on the desktop app or in a web browser? Which one and version?
It will be helpful if you can walk me through step-by-step the pathway you took to open up the draft.

Hello Liz I found the fix, thank you. No idea what caused the problem in the first place, but I found the remedy. All was blank except a rather faded ‘visual’ – top right hand of the page. I clicked on ‘visual’ and up popped all the keyboard icons. Something to keep in mind if anybody else contact you with a similar disappearance. However… There’s one other issue I’ve notice of late. On the daily total page under number of views, the number of readers usually increases as I watch the tally, but it now only alters the number if I click out that page and back again. It’s as if something is slowing it down. Overnight, all is well, as it should be, tally is up next morning, but while using WordPress during the day, watching visitor and reader numbers, it stays static. Any thoughts? Warm regards Gareth

I’m happy to hear that you were able to resolve your own issue :) Adjusting the contrast on your screen may help.
