Help customizing blog in Selma theme
-
Hello!
I am using the Selma theme. I want to know how I change the “header” bar color. What do I have to do to change it from that pink?________________________
Here is the second issue I am having. I am going through and creating my blog. When I go through on my header bar, I have the following categories:
Home
Beauty
Fashion
About
ContactI added the Beauty and Fashion categories on there. When I click on the About, Home, or Contact, they take me to a page on my blog where I can edit how the page looks. But, when I click on the Beauty or Fashion category, I don’t get redirected to a different page. I just stay on my home page. Why is that? Do I have to create a new page? How do I add it to my header bar?
I’m not super computer smart and I am new to WordPress. I super appreciate all of the help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,

If you head to the Colours & Backgrounds panel of the WordPress.com Customizer, you’ll find a few different colour palettes that you can choose from to change the site’s overall colour scheme from pink.
If you’d like a little more control, then you could upgrade to WordPress.com Premium or Business in order to access more Custom Design options, including the ability to add custom CSS.
The following custom CSS will change the background of Sela’s bar from pink:
.main-navigation, button { background-color: #663399; }You can change the value of #663399 to any HEX code of your choice. If you’d like to experiment with different colours, try a few Google searches to get a list of HEX codes and their corresponding values. Here’s an example of a site that I’ve used before:

It looks like the links haven’t been correctly added to your custom menu.
To fix, head to My Site in the top left of WordPress.com and then choose Menus from the left side:
https://wordpress.com/menus/curvyhipsandtintedlips.wordpress.com
Select the pencil icon next to Beauty in order to edit it and then navigate to Category > Beauty in the resulting window. Check the option next to Beauty and save your changes. Repeat those steps for Fashion.
Each of the menu items will then be “linked up” to the correct categories.
Let us know how you get on with that or if any extra questions come up.
