Help! deledted blog and cannot map domain
-
Hiya,
I a, trying to get a hosted wordpress site to work so I can use themes, plugins etc. I created a new blog accessvideo.wordpress.com and mapped accessvideo.com.au to it.
I went to my host, justhost.com and tried to install wordpress from there, however it would go back to the wordpress hosted site. I decided to erase it and start again, however the new blos dashboard wont let me map my domain accessvideo.com.au as its mapped to the erased blog, accessvideo.wordpress.com
Ive made quite a mess.
What I want to do is get a hosted wordpress site up on my hosting account under the domain of accessvideo.com.au . I have already bought the theme templates and paid for the redirection of the domain.
Can anyone help me out?
Cheers
Damien

You need to log in to your WordPress.COM blog and change the settings on the domain in accordance with this http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org it’s not irreparable, don’t worry.

Thanks for your reply.
The problem is that I erased the old blog thinking I could start over and recover it again, so I cant actually login and access the blog as it doesnt exist anymore.
I created a new blog myaccessvideo.wordpress.com but I cannot map my hosted domain accessvideo.com.au to it as it says ‘this domain is already mapped to another wordpress blog’
Any thoughts?

I have moved the mapping for accessvideo.com.au to myaccessvideo.wordpress.com as requested.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

Thanks that was quick! I thought I had fixed it somehow…obviously not :)
One more question, I am trying to upload my site to wordpress from my justhost account so I can activate the themes I have purchased, however it directs me to the ‘blog’ (which I cant edit) on wordpress.com. I have downloaded the wordpress.org program but its a too complex a process for my experience. Ideally I would like to upload the free service via justhost.com rather than go through the ‘famous 5 minute installation’
Any tips, or Is this something I have to take up with the hosting company?

This, I’m afraid, is something you have to take up with the hosting company and the people at WordPress.org. It’s more complicated than WP.com, but not dementedly so.
It sounds like you have a custom domain here which has not been transferred to the new web space. Whatever space you have outside WP.com, it does need its own name. If you have a custom domain here, you can just change the site it points to and go ahead and blog. If you don’t have a custom domain, you’ll have to buy a domain so that your new site has a place to “be” online, an address.

Thanks raincoaster, I was beginning to come to the same conclusion. I will take it up with the hosting company.
Thanks all for such a quick response to this issue.
Cheers,
Damien
