Help delete non-existing site from Dashboard

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I have eight self-hosted sites in my wordpress.com profile. Four sites that no longer exist were hidden, I’ve now made them visible and they are all shown as visible on the ‘My Blogs’ page.

Despite repeatedly reloading pages, those sites that were hidden are still not showing in the ‘My Sites’ section and this prevents me from access the settings to delete the sites.

Can anyone offer a solution to this? Thank you.

    Site: https://namelastname.com.
    Correct account: Yes

The site mentioned is irrelevant and only stated because of the requirement to mention a site. It is not a site that is hidden, it is not a site I’m deleting. It is not relevant to this situation.

    Hi there!

I’ve noticed that you have a bunch of self-hosted WordPress.org sites connected to this WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin. We can disconnect the Jetpack connection, effectively removing them from your WordPress.com dashboard.

If you’d like us to disconnect the sites from your account, please reply with the links to the sites in question. We will then disconnect the Jetpack connection so that they stop showing up on your WordPress.com account.

Please note that disconnecting a Jetpack connection does not delete the actual site. As they are self-hosted WordPress.org sites hosted elsewhere, the site may still be there with the actual hosting. If you haven’t deleted the sites and you need to delete them, make sure to do so at your hosting company’s end.

    Regards

Hello, thank you for your help. The no longer existing sites that I want to delete from my WordPress.com account are as follows:

    circularsawsreviewed.com
    circularsawreview.co.uk
    sawreview.co.uk
    sawsreview.com

Using the Jetpack app for iOS, I can see all eight sites but the app won’t let me delete them from there due to an API problem. The formerly hidden sites remain hidden on the My Sites page when on my computer.

Also, I can’t seme to find a link to the WordPress Global Dashboard (dashboard.wordpress.com) from wordpress.com/stats/day

The eight sites are all visible on the Global Dashboard but nothing can be done with self-hosted sites from there.

    Thanks again for your help.

  • Hello there,

Many thanks for that extra information.

It looks like these are self-hosted sites, just to check are you able to access these?

If yes, you should be able to remove these as per these instructions here: https://jetpack.com/support/disconnect-jetpack-sites/

    I hope this helps.

I’ve read those instructions and I know how to disconnect the sites on both desktop and the iOS app, but the sites no longer exist and therefore are not accessible.

I’ve checked my hosting account in case they exist on a subdomain (a domain addon), but I removed them from the hosting account after the domains expired.

  • Hello there,

Many thanks for that extra information.

I was able to disconnect Jetpack from our end – can you confirm that these have been removed from your end please?

    Many thanks.

Thank you. I’ve checked and confirmed those sites have now been removed on both the My Sites page and the Global Dashboard.

I’m hoping to make more use of wordpress.com and the Jetpack iOS app, so hopefully, I’ll remember to remove them if I need to in future.

    Thanks for your help.
