HELP! DNS messed up, my blod is down!!??

    Hi, I have the name birthowl.wordpress.com and bought before that bithowl.com as a domain name, so I redirected the name at my domain name server 1&1.
    Everything was fine, only when I typed in birthowl.com then the site came up but the adddress bar displayed birthowl.wordpress.com.
    The I read in WordPress faq about changing the DNS, so I tried that and changed the DNS as described in the 1&1 control panel.
    I wanted to mention that I submitted my blog under birthowl.com to the searchengines and have reader looking for that address.
    So when I tried to open birthowl.com several hours later, I just get a CANNOT FIND SERVER message. THat’ it.
    So I called 1&1 and they told me to click reset 1&1 as the main name server.
    They told me it will take 24 hours til it works…site down til then under birthowl.com.
    Then I read on wordpress faq that I should have clicked in the options on my blog and added the domain name. I missed that out.
    When I try it now it tells me that this name is not pointing to wordpress.
    What should I do?
    If I go bach to 1&1 control panel and reset it, and try to do it that way, will it work?
    Will it take an additional 72 hours?
    I am confused! What should I do??? Please help!

    You need to talk at 1and1 because your changes there have not actually happened.
