    Allowing a domain to expire

    When you allow your domain expire, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.

    If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive.

    Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the $80. redemption fee.

    If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

    If you did not register the underlying .wordpress.com site then contact the person with the username account who registered it.

    I’ve tagged this thread in the sidebar with modlook for Staff attention.
    If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.

    Hi @aseguradojaicel, can you verify you are talking about this domain: tealmagazine.com?

    If so, that domain name is in redemption which means our registrar will add an $80 redemption fee to get it back on top of the $18 registration fee ($26 if you wish private registration).

    Once a domain goes into redemption, time is of the essence, so please let us know as soon as you can if you are willing to pay the $80 fee + registration fee and also let us know if you wish the private registration. Once we have your verification, we can send a payment request and once that payment has been made, we will contact our registrar to get the domain name back for you.
