Help for a Newbie
-
Hi All,
I have a private blog with private posts.
What exact steps have to be taken to authorize others to read my posts? I just want them to be able to read, not anything else. I am having problems navigating WordPress’ documentation.
Thanks so much.

Blogs are set up for public viewing ancd commentary so if you wish to have a private blog you must change your blog settings. You have to register those that you want to be able to see your blog on your blog on your Dashboard -> Users -> Authors and Users page. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/17/how-do-i-add-more-authors-users-to-my-blog/
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/12/what-are-the-different-roles/Then the people you have registered on your blog also have to register with wordpress.
You also need to set your discussion page to dis-allow comments. -> Dashboard -> Options -> Discussion (examine the checkboxes and adjust then to reflect your choices then click “update options” to save.
These are related threads from the FAQs blog
