Help for Hacked WordPress Site, Please!

    My brother’s wordpress site has been hacked and a porn link placed in the header. His site is PackMentalityBlog.com. He has been battling a brain tumor and is very frustrated that his site was hacked. His site is hosted by GoDaddy and they say it appears whoever found the vulnerability found it in a plug-in and put it in the database. Any help or guidance is sincerely or greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi. Sorry but you are in the wrong forum.
    This forum is only for blogs/sites hosted by WordPress.com
    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    And you should ask in the WordPress.org forum.

    But wouldn’t sites in any hosting platform be subject IF they are using flaws in WordPress to do the hacking? Seems to me the hosting platform is secondary to the main issue, but I’ll post the same question in the other forum.

    There are some differences in the software here from what your brother is using – also the staff guards over the blogs here and we don’t have Plugin’s

    The WordPress.ORG forum is the correct place to ask for help

    looks like your brothers site is a nice general site with no ads – he might consider moving his content and blog here – save a bit of money and the staff takes care of the updates
