Help!! Gallery Thumbnails Pixelated & Blurry!!

  Hello,

  Just created a gallery using the thumbnail grid option, and the images turned out pixelated.
  My images are 1280px wide, I’m using Safari and Chrome.
  They look fine when I use the mosaic tiles in the WP gallery, but once I switched to thumbnail grid, they turned out pixelated.

  Hi Kat,

  When I first visited the page, they did indeed look pixelated and blurry, but that was the placeholder image (which you usually can’t tell because the thumbnails are generally so much smaller). Once the page was open for a few seconds however, the larger resolution loaded and your images looked great.

  You might be able to get a higher resolution to load for the initial thumbnail by increasing the size for thumbnails in your settings. You can log in to your Dashboard and then go to Settings >> Media and change the resolution to something higher, such as 300 x 300. That may allow the initially loaded image to look nicer.

  Hello almightywp,

  My monitor resolutions are 2560×1440 and the larger images don’t load properly on both Safari and Chrome.
  This is what appears on my browser:

  My thumbnails (featured images) are the same as my larger images. They’re 1200×800 wide, please see this screenshot for my gallery settings:

  The only way for the images to look properly is to make it 3 columns, even 2 columns look pixelated. But then 3 columns would make the images too small, and I don’t want that.

  I went ahead and tried updating them and after I cleared my cache and tried viewing it again and it didn’t have any problems loading at all. You may want to play with the resolutions, but this should fix your issue.
