HELP HELP HELP – I need to recover a closed website

    I transferred my domain from a wordpress site to a wix website and didn’t realize all of the documents and files on the wordpress website weren’t backed up and now my account is closed so I had to make this account to fill out a forum to get ahold of someone. I need to get those files recovered from the wordpress site. Please help!

    Hi,

    Just to clarify, was your WordPress site hosted here with us at WordPress.com? Or was it a site built with the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) and hosted with a host such as GoDaddy/Bluehost/etc?

    WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that were hosted here on WordPress.com. If your site WAS with us, the good news is that we can likely help you find your site data again. But if it was hosted with another host, you’ll need to contact their support team and hope that they still have a backup somewhere.

    Out of curiosity, what was the reason for moving from WordPress to Wix? Was there something you could not do with WordPress that caused you to want to switch?
