HELP! how to add ticker?!?!

  I have the code for a ticker that i want to add to my blog. it counts down to my son’s next birthday(the blog is about him). how/where do i put it in?!?! thanks!

  Without seeing the code I would guess that it is Javascript (does it have < script > in it?) in which case it’s not possible to put it on your blog here.

  This is because javascripting has been disabled for security purposes.

  If you want more information have a look in the FAQ at the top of the forum, or in http://faq.wordpress.com, or search for Javascript in the forum.

  Have you tried to add it into a Text Widget? Should be just cut and paste if it’s just a regular image link like you have.

  Dashboard -> Presentation -> Sidebar Widgets.

  If you need to add a Text widget, bump the number of them up at the bottom of the page.

  thanks! i added it as a text widget, and it worked, except now my side bar widgets are at the bottom of the page instead of the top!

  You’re putting a 400 pixel wide image into a sidebar with a 170 pixel width.

  Sort of like trying to drive the space shuttle down a country back road. :)

  I would suggest making a Page for the graphic and linking to that.

  edit: You may also want to take a few minutes and read the FAQ on uploading pictures. Looks like you’re using the actual picture for the thumbnail. Your site took almost a minute to load on a OC-48 here and that’s rather high.

  Have you thought about resizing your pictures? They’re beautiful pictures but when I went to your site, right away I knew the pictures must be huge when clicked because it took so long to load and I have high speed internet. Because if your family and friends have dial up, they won’t be able to go through your site. But I checked the properties of one of the pictures and it was over 2,000.
