Help: How to know if free WordPress blog is still active

  Hi,
  Hope someone can be of help.

  I purchased my own host last year, and possibly deleted my free WordPress.com blog. My self hosted blog is not going too well as my blog keeps constantly experiencing downtime. Therefore I would like to go back to my free WordPress.com blog.

  Question: Is my free blog and dashboard/ control panel still active with WordPress.com or has it been closed/ deactivated? E.g if I were to continue posting on my free WordPress blog, would this be o.k and would it still be live in all the major search engines like Google, Yahoo etc
