Help! How to migrate websites on the wix platform to WordPress?
-
I want to migrate my website built on the Wix platform to the WordPress platform, but when using the migration tool, I reported an error of “403 Forbidden”. The original website http://www.globevisa.com can be opened. May I ask if there is a problem with my operation? Is there a solution?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there!
The pane should load up a preview of your current site, and it seems like that’s being blocked by Wix for some reason, as 403 is an “access denied” type error. And I can confirm I see the same error if I try to import from my side.
Do you want to contact their support to see what needs to be done to unblock us? I also noticed wix is not currently allowing users to export blog posts to other platforms, and I wonder if that’s part of the issue. I’ll check in with our Imports team as well to see if this is happening with other sites.
If all else fails, it is possible to create the pages here manually and copy the content over, though it would take time. We also have a service that could manually migrate the site for you and handle any design changes needed, if you’d like to book a call with them.

Thank you for your reply. Can I apply for permission to start the Wix site and proceed with site migration? I want to migrate the entire website architecture of http://www.globevisa.com to WordPress, not just the migration articles.

Hey there,
Many thanks for reaching back out!
Can I apply for permission to start the Wix site and proceed with site migration?
Yes, although this permission would need to be applied for with Wix, as they would be the ones applying the accessing.
I want to migrate the entire website architecture of http://www.globevisa.com to WordPress
To double check this point – are you referring to the site design here?
Many thanks in advance!

I have applied for permission from the official Wix platform, but they replied that they have no permission to apply and there is no official channel for migrating the source code to the WordPress platform. Yes, http://www.globevisa.com is a website we designed on Wix and would like to try switching to the WordPress platform for operation.

Hey there,
Many thanks for getting back to me with that information. Alas, this is one of the drawbacks of moving between platforms.
In terms of design, you’re looking at rebuilding the site theme inside of WordPress around the content, because that code has not been made available to you.
Looking at https://www.globevisa.com/ – you could benefit from a multipurpose theme like that of Divi or Avada, whereby it looks like most if not all design elements are possible.
To run those sorts of themes, the WordPress.com Business plan would be required:
Alternatively, as the site is already built and the design is there – I can recommend our Built By WordPress service: https://wordpress.com/built-by-wordpress-com/, which will save you time in the long run.
The above is actually proving very popular with regards to getting things up and running in a speedy timeframe.
I hope this is useful information and I look forward to hearing from you.
