Help! I need my domain back

I tried canceling my domain in hopes to use it on another platform, but after reading many other forums, this was the wrong thing to do. How do I get my domain back so I can transfer it? Also, the transfer process is pretty hard to follow, especially for someone who isn’t great with computers.
Can someone please help me so I can get my website back up and running?

Cancelling domains
It is important to know that cancelled domains are not released by the registrar immediately. Also note that here’s no guarantee you’ll be able to use a domain again as it may be sold to someone else. Therefore you should cancel a domain, if and only if, you are sure you do not wish to use it again.What is the URL of the domain?
If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.
