Help – I need to renew my ‘mapping for my domain’
-
I just found out my mapping for my domain expired three days ago, but can’t find where and how to renew it. The various links and questions just lead me into a loop.
-
I don’t see any history of domains under the account you’re currently logged in with.
What’s the domain name?
-
Dear MacManx:
I have my own account which has two free blogs, but the domain which is shut down and which apparently needs to have its domain mapping renewed is ThePriceofLiberty.org.
This website was owned by Susan Callaway of Newcastle, WY. She passed away about a year and a half ago, and I took over the website as publisher/editor, but I had thought that it was a free site.
I am trying to keep it going, but the domain mapping expired on Sunday the 26th. -
@tpolnathan got it. I can see you’re an administrator on the site. Please go back to https://wordpress.com/me/purchases to see if you can renew the mapping now.
-
Noting too, if you don’t own the domain and won’t be able to renew it, I’d highly recommend setting the site URL to its free address, so that when the domain does expire, folks won’t be trying to visit it at the old address.

Dear MacManx:
I was able to find a way to pay – and the site is restored. But I still probably need to know how to officially take over Lady Susan’s account and page now that she is gone. Can someone help with that? Don’t want this to happen again. -
@tpolnathan if she gave you account credentials, use those. If she gave you access to her email account, you can use that, too, to gain access:
Otherwise, we’ll need you to complete these steps to gain access:
