I wanted to make a separate business blog but forgot to sign out of my current one 1st. It was not until I finished everything and paid for the upgrades to .com and privacy that i realized they were linked. Do i need to cancel it, sign out and reregister under a different user name and email? I would like to be able to use the same domain name at .com that i signed up for. Please help!

Can people see my profile on both blogs? If they can’t, I would just keep the new one there. That was my big concern. Thanks!

Hi there,
If both of your blogs are under the same user, then yes, when you interact with people on the blog then they will be able to see that they are the same user who runs both blogs.
You don’t necessarily need to cancel and set up a new one. You shouldn’t in fact because domains, once cancelled, can take a long time to become available again. Instead, you should create the new user which you want to have that is totally separate and transfer your blog to that user by following these help article steps:

I thought it said somewhere it takes 60 days?
Will people on my new blog be able to see my profile from my other blog? -
I also paid to have the new blog be a .com blog. It says it takes 72 hours. Should I wait for that before transferring? I also wanted to upgrade to a premium blog. Should I do this before I transfer it? I was hoping what i paid for the .com status could be credited to the premium upgrade. Will I be able to use the same credit card after I transfer?

You are 100% correct, the transfer from one user to another would indeed also be blocked by the 60 day registrar lock. I apologize! I completely forgot about that.
As an alternative, you can still create an additional user and invite them to be an administrator on the second blog. Only use that second user to post and interact with people. That way, any interactions will be from the second user and no one will see any input from the first.

Since you just want an additional username and not another blog, your best bet is going to be to go directly to this address:
https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1
From here you can create the username. Keep in mind you have to use a different email address than your first one. Once you have verified it, you can add the user to your other blog by following the instructions right here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/
You will probably want this new user to be an administrator, but it is entirely up to you. Here’s an article which will break down the various types of user roles:
