Help, I'm new to WordPress

I inadvertently deleted my About page and tried to recreate it but it is not working properly. I read the support tips and blogs but I cannot figure out a way to restore it. Can I please start with a clean slate so that I can select a theme and create content all over again but keep the same website name, URL, etc? I am just learning how to create a website so I hope having the opportunity to start from scratch again will allow for more practice and familiarization. Thanks.

Geoffrey, thank you very much for your prompt reply. I have read all of the pages you suggested but I cannot find one that addresses the problem. I inadvertently deleted my About page because I did not know at the time that it would be permanent. I tried to add it back but now when I click on the About page on my website, an automatically generated message comes up:
“Oops! That page can’t be found. It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try a search?”
How can I restore the functionality of my original About page?
Again, thank you very much for your help. I learned a lot from reading the pages you suggested, however; I did not find anything in them that addressed the issue I am experiencing.

I’m glad you learned a lot from those links, but I apologize that I misread you were just trying to start again instead of still recover the deleted page. Your original About page may still be in your trash. You can access your page trash by going to Pages and then Trash or Trashed should be one of the links towards the top of the page. Is your About page still in there?
