HELP! I’m trying to add a custom HEADER
-
I’ve been very successful thus far with CSS code lately, however I can’t get my WHOLE new custom header to work. The width is the same as it was pre-CSS Upgrade, the height has been changed to 400px. I thought I had to go through the ‘Custom Header’ tab in APPEARANCE first, but this of course made me crop it. Can someone please help.
Also, it seems that the menu bar needs to move down (have more padding?) but I’m not sure how to do this. Please help, someone…. my blog looks FUNNY!
Thanks a bunch!Code I used:
#header {
border-bottom:5px solid #333333 url(http://imaprile.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/customheader1.jpg);
position:relative;
width:920px;
height:400px;
padding:20px 0 10px;
}
the header image: http://imaprile.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/customheader1.jpg

border-bottom:5px solid #333333 url(http://imaprile.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/customheader1.jpg);This property is wrong…
Try this instead
border-bottom:5px solid #333333; background: transparent url(http://imaprile.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/customheader1.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat; -

one more thing… if you’re able. Can you please point out the code I should look for the allow more space between the bottom of the header and the top blog post (title)? To me, it appears too close together. I’ve tweaked everything I can think of in Firebug, but nothing budges. Thank you if you can help. :)

UPDATE: I figured out (FINALLY!) how to lower the blog title from the header area, however now I can’t figure out how to lower the top sidebar area down to even it out? ANY help is again, appreciated.

Add this definition to your CSS
#sidebar{margin: 30px 0 0;}30px is a suggested value… you might need to adjust it.
