help – installation plugins and software
-
Hi People!
I opened a website on wordpress.com and started working on it.
I did not install anything on the pc, just have worked online.
After one month i have decided to make a backup of the website.
I expected to find a way to install a plugin online on my dashboard but ‘ve found no way.
What should i do? is it possible? in the case, how? what am i missing?other point please as i am a beginner, shall i consider to install the software on the pc or i may think to go on in this way?
thanks in advance,

You do not need to install anything. See here please http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/#backups
There is no FTP access to WordPress.COM blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins or third party themes.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/There is no other upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.
WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, conduct ecommerce and edit the database. Learn about the differences here. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

thanks a lot^^
i ‘ve got the difference between org and com and have already started worrying too much about my choice to get a website with .COM and not with .ORG. I still dont understand what i might miss being on .COM.
Go on reading. I expected to use a plugin to make a backup but you have shown me that i dont need it anymore. Anyway I fear I will miss some useful plugins…and my “.com” will not be able to change too much or improve in some way (multilingual plugin for example…etc.)yep

(multilingual plugin for example…etc.)
We do not have FTP access and we bloggers cannot install any plugins, we cannot use Microsoft or Google translation widgets or any others, as they are JavaScript and it’s stripped out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascriptHowever, I have translation on my WordPress.com blogs. There are two workarounds and you will find them here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/02/14/translation-widget-for-wordpress-com-blogs/
Note: You can copy and paste the code on my Translations page and then replace every occurrence of my blog’s URL in the code with your own blog’s URL.If you are bilingual or multilingual and want to publish your free hosted WordPress.com in two or more languages but do not want to rely on machine translation that can be done see here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/02/25/wordpress-com-multilingual-blogs/
