Help me choose a theme please

  New to WordPress. I want to build a website for an art gallery, so I think that wants to be a portfolio theme? Equally I want the option to integrate easily with shop functionality in due course.

  I quite like what’s been done here – using Imbalance 2 theme – but I hate the way the items don’t line up in a neat grid.

  Be aware that the free plan and the Premium plan do not allow you to upload your own themes or plugins.   A self-hosted WordPress site might be right for you. WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server.   Yes, the blog I need help with is not the one listed; I didn’t realise it was going to list that one for me (which was just a little experiment)! I had in mind a self-hosted site on .ORG.

  Any suggestions for a theme?

  Hi there, since you’re looking for a theme for a self-hosted site you have a much bigger selection to choose from.

  If you need help choosing a theme, I’d suggest you post over in the WordPress.org forums, since folks here are probably more familiar with the WordPress.com theme collection of a few hundred themes, versus the several thousand available for self-hosted sites!

  That said, you might want to look at one of our portfolio themes, Sketch, which is available for self-hosted sites and which I’ve seen others integrate with e-commerce functionality. You can download it here to give it a whirl:
