So I made my first post, but it doesnt seem to have actually posted on the front page?!? It is called The Last Straw….not sure why it wont show up! Help!

Are you referring to a post or to a page?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/If and only if the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.

Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
The auto-save works there and the post will be Standard post format unless you change it.Do not create posts here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ where the auto-save is not working and where you are creating an Aside post format.
Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

Is it perchance still a Draft? Go to the Dashboard Posts page and see if it’s there and/or set as Draft.

No, the link to the blog is http://thefunnyinfertile.wordpress.com but we need the link to the post. If it says it’s published, you should be able to find the link by hovering over the title of the post.

Start here: http://learn.wordpress.com
Then go to Settings->General and select to have your blog open on the blog posts page. Save that setting. Then just create new Posts.
