Help! Moving from GoDaddy to WordPress…….
-
Hi. I have a site using GoDaddy.com. Also email and a domain registered with them. I’ve been building a parallel site in WordPress.com but need the flexibility of WP.org? Can I create my new site in .org and when done, have it connected to my registered domain name or does that need to be moved? Any help would be appreciated?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. Yes, you will be able to host your WordPress.org site using you GoDaddy hosting. You will also be able to use the domain you’ve brought from them for this. If you need more information on setting up a WordPress.org site please visit the .org Support forums or documentation.
WordPress.com is a self-hosted publishing platform. You therefore wouldn’t be able to use .com with your GoDaddy hosting. You can purchase a domain name via the WordPress.com dashboard area and, if you purchase a CSS upgrade, can customise your site’s appearance.
