i changed the theme but it blew up my blog. can I get it back? how?

This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

hi, it IS a word press.com site which I have hosted on my go daddy account. I don’t know what would prompt someone to think it s .org site. Id appreciate any help that anyone can provide. Thank you.

yes that is correct.
but it was changing the wordpress.com theme that blew up the blog. so what do I do? -
unfortunately I did not have the back up data – my mistake. there must be a way to restore it. any ideas?

perhaps there is a way to start a new template and somehow import the data into it. I am extremely surprised that a wordpress.com blog template would just blow up like that. my bad for not backing up the data before hand.

time thief – ITS NOT A WORD PRESS.ORG product, it’s a word press com product. yes its hosted elsewhere. as you said they are different products.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG do not run on exactly the same software.
Themes are either licensed and adapted to run on WordPress.COM software or on WordPress.ORG software.

I cannot help you with any themes issue you have on any WordPress.ORG software. That is what the Wordless.ORG support forums are for.

You have a simple problem to address to get your blog at least live again – you should be able to find someone with the same problem in the WordPress.ORG forum – getting your blog back live is literally less than 5 minutes

perhaps someone else can help me then. as I have stated here is it NOT. org software, its .com software running on a go daddy platform. I purchased the software from .com not .org. so they can;t help me, does this make any sense?

i do completely understand they are two different products all my log in and everything is .com so please stop telling me it’s not your product because it is. but it’s not hosted by you is that the issue.

You cannot purchase either WordPress.COM or WordPress.ORG software. WordPress software is open source code and free of charge. You purchased web hosting.

please tell me why you think it is a .org product. I’m not trying to be difficult here Im trying to solve a problem and thank you for the help. you just keep telling me the same thing and it doesn’t make sense.

i will go to word press .org and ask them. but its not their template, its from wordpress.com
