Help! My most recent post somehow replaced another post

  I just posted something new today. Before I posted it, I hit “Preview”. I thought it was a bit strange because in the preview, it showed comments that had been made on a post I put up yesterday. I thought it was just a glitch and went ahead and published the post. I can now see that the post I put up yesterday has disappeared, but all the comments that were made with it are showing up on my new post.

  The posts did not have the same titles or anything. The new post is called “A World of Followers” and the old post was called “Simply Travel”. The only evidence I have is that the comments are completely out of context now. Even going back into my notifications archive, the title of the post in all of the comments has switched to this new post which didn’t even exist when those notifications came through!

  Please help me get it back, I’m quite disappointed that it is gone as it was my most popular post to date :(.

  Someone helped me restore the post, however, I’m confused as to how this happened in the first place. I started a new post from the new dashboard, and absolutely everything was blank so it’s not as though I just wrote over it accidentally as I had to fill out every single bit of information (tags, categories, images, etc).

  Thank you. I am subscribed and look forward to seeing if this was just a strange glitch or a bug.

  I’m planning another post tomorrow and I’ll update if the same issue repeats itself.

  I’m glad to hear you were able to recover the post.

  Based on your description, it does seem like your new post over-wrote your old one–but based on your description I’m not sure how that would have happened.

  One thing to check next time is to be sure you don’t have multiple copies of the editor open when you are writing your posts.

  Other than that, my sense is it was just a glitch.

  If I’m wrong, and it does happen again today, could you get a screen shot of the preview window?
