Help! My parent and child categories keep combining!!

I have the Resonar theme and I LOVE it. I decided to make dynamic categories that I can use to organize my site and help people read content by category and not at random like it used to be. I created child categories for almost all of the parent categories (e.g. Parent= Blog, Child= 5 Minute Reads). I’m having an issue, though. The posts from my child category seem to be combining with my parent categories, which kind of makes the parent and child category idea useless. I want to be able to post something to my 5 Minute Reads and have it STAY there. I only want the Blog to have the Blog posts and the 5 Minute Reads to have the 5 Minute Reads.
I already thought of the issue being behind sticky posts (maybe if I made a 5 Minute Read sticky, that was why it was bleeding into my main Blog category?) but I was wrong and it is still happening.
Any help would be appreciated because I publish tomorrow afternoon!

Are you able to confirm the website you’re working on please so that we can take a closer look?
In the first instance, I would perhaps check if the posts are ticked in both of those categories, to make sure they’re not ticked under both categories.

I have already checked to make sure it was only ticked under one of the child categories.
But I think I may have fixed it! I just made my parent category’s URL #blog or #travel and then made the actual category for the pages I would like my content to be. I haven’t seen any bleeding over yet.Thank you for your assistance!
