Help! My Public Blog is Pretending to be Private!
-
Hello,
I recently made my blog private to update it: I fixed some links, and bought the 99$ package wherein I purchased my domain name, so now I’m .com, and not .wordpress.com.
I changed the privacy setting from private to public to unveil the new blog, and it did not link it on my FB page, as it is set to do.
I tried to link it manually, and when I did the link showed up on FB as being to a private blog.
I have cleared my cookies and cache, I have logged in and out of both WP and FB and it the link still reads as though my blog is private when it is not. I can find it when I’m not logged in, it shows up as public, but it claims to be private when I link it.
And ideas on how I might fix this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your blog is definitely Public http://mylifewithouttits.com/
The fact that it will take time for Google to index it as being Public does not change that. -
Try disconnecting the Facebook etc. links and reconnecting them – the new connection should generate a query to your now public blog so the info should be updated

Please consult Common Reasons Why a Post Failed to Publicize
http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#common-reasons-why-a-post-failed-to-publicizePost the snippet and link manually To Facebook to save time first and then proceed as follows.
1. Try flushing your FB cache but disconnect from FB first http://umairj.com/146/how-to-clear-facebook-shares-cache/
2. Try the full reconnect procedure again detailed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-services
3. Another way to help Facebook update its cache faster is to enter the link in its debugger here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
Note: RSS Grafitti http://www.facebook.com/RSS.Graffiti can be used for posting to Facebook walls if you prefer. RSS Graffiti periodically checks the RSS/Atom feeds that you specify and posts any new entries it finds to the Facebook Walls that you specify. You can get any feed written on any wall (Facebook Profiles, Fan Pages, Groups, Events and Application Profile Pages). In fact, multiple feeds to multiple walls. You choose the combination.
Please note that reconnecting Publicize with Facebook and/or with Twitter does not re-publicize missed posts, but it will work for future posts.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions: it was finally the FB debugger that did the trick, after also trying all your suggestions about that one.
Phew, I really appreciate your help. Thanks again,
