Help, my site is barking in the dark, i keep getting comments from another site

  Help, my site is barking in the dark, i keep getting comments from another site called Cancer killing recipe – and now it’s being hit by spam and i have to delete upwards of 40 comments a day. how do i stop getting comments from this site? i DO NOT want to delete my blog – i want to stop getting the comments directed to Cancer Killing Recipe. thank you

  To delete or cancel a blog, go to Tools -> Delete Blog in your Dashboard. If you delete a blog you will not be able to get it back and no one else will be able to use that blog address. You must be sure you never want to use the blog again if you delete it. your answer(above) answer does not address my problem.

  i do NOT need help with the cranky carmudgeon -i need help with making it impossible for comments directed at wordpress blog Cancer Killing Recipe. to reach my email inbox. my email box is stuffed with these comments. how do i do this? thank you

  Hi there – It sounds like your problem is twofold: (1) unwanted comments from a specific site; and (2) an uptick in spam comments generally.

  For the first problem, the best thing is to simply delete or spam those particular comments. You can also add the blogger to your blacklist in Settings->Discussion (but note the bit about terms you add matching inside words (example: adding “wordpress” will flag any comment with “word” or “press”):

  For the increased spam, please mark them all as spam. Eventually, Akismet (our spam catcher) will “learn” to recognize them as such. If they are going into your spam folder to begin with, then everything is working as expected. You don’t need to manually clear that folder. It will be cleared periodically and you can ignore it.
