help! my site renders OK in Chrome; TERRIBLY in Internet Explorer!

  Here’s where my blog is located.

  Hi there!

  On my laptop, my blog displays just fine in Chrome but TERRIBLY in Internet Explorer!

  First problem: the blue background is only supposed to be around the blog posts, in the top, right, and left parts of the screen, with the postings themselves having a white background

  • in Chrome this displays fine
  • in Internet Explorer the blue colour is EVERYWHERE (and this makes my text really difficult to read!)

  Second problem: sidebar on the right-hand side is missing

  • In Chrome I can see the sidebar just fine.
  • In Internet Explorer, the sidebar is missing!

  There may be other problems… I’m not sure… do I have to go and test it in Firefox too? Opera? yikes!!!

  Hi again…

  The website appears fine in Chrome and Firefox.

  So it just seems to be Internet Explorer that looks terrible.

  Is it possible that I have to change a setting in Internet Explorer?
