Help! My website is gone
-
I made the rookie mistake of changing the url through wordpress instead of going through my domain, and now the site is gone and it’s just linking through a different website that has the same url. How do I fix this?

Hi there! Could you please provide the actual website URL? I need to first assess the hosting environment to determine if you have full access to your hosting account or if it’s restricted. If you have file access, you can easily change the site URL in the wp-config.php file, or if you have access to phpMyAdmin, you can update it in the wp_options table.

@hellofb26b6ce50 Can you let us know the URL? Then we can confirm it’s hosted here on WordPress.com and help you if it is.

@sambaran71 I tried accessing the wp-config.php file but I cant get any access to it, so I tried getting in through phpMyAdmin but I can’t get into it. It’s probably through error on my end due to myself being extremely new to this if I’m being honest. I tried looking up tutorials but I always ended up getting confused and lost.

Hey @hellofb26b6ce50!
I can see that https://wolfiescreative.com/ used to be hosted with DreamHost as per https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/wolfiescreative.com. I encourage you to contact their support team and ask for direct help in restoring the site and the previous configuration/settings.The site rocketmedia.com seems to be hosted with Google instead as per https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/rocketmedia.com. Consider reaching out to them too for any help.
That said, the best place to ask for help with sites not hosted on WordPress.com yet is on https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.
Once you fix any outstanding issues with your site, I encourage you to consider switching hosting to WordPress.com as one of the fastest and most efficient managed hosting providers.
If interested and once you are ready, you can start here https://wordpress.com/move/
