Hi, what site are you having issues with? It sounds like you might be referring to a WordPress.ORG site as you have just switched to https and also the Jetpack plugin is for WordPress.ORG sites rather than WordPress.COM hosted sites.

If so, your query will get better tailored support over on the WordPress.ORG’s support forum where there will be people who can help with your WordPress.ORG site.

For more info on the differences in case it’s not clear: difference between .COM & .ORG sites .

This topic over on the .ORG forums references the same error as yours but doesn’t offer any obvious solution, I expect it’s a config issue, but you will have to seek assistance from the WordPress.ORG forums.

    Hope this helps

Its a WordPress.com hosted site and its really giving me headache…I installed the jetpack plugin to enable me post to my blog from the app…but since I moved to https its really giving me problems…. I need help

Hi again, the Jetpack plugin is only installable for WordPress.ORG sites, i.e. WordPress sites hosted on your preferred hosting service rather than WordPress.COM hosting, Jetpack is already included in a WordPress.COM hosted site, but also and options for users who choose to use WordPress on their own server or hosting.

You say you have moved to https recently, that is another indication that you use a 3rd party hosting service as you will have no control over the http protocol type used at WordPress.COM hosted site.
Please check out my links above to get more detail about the difference between WordPress.COM & .ORG.

You don’t need to install the Jetpack plugin to be able to use the WordPress app to connect to a WordPress.COM hosted site and you shouldn’t have any https issues in doing so. Which app are you using? Android? Apple? If you are having trouble connecting your app to your WordPress.COM site linked above, please confirm so we can assist you further, thanks!

  • Hi there,

As @acesabe already said, the site you’re having issues with isn’t hosted here at WordPress.com.

Also, I can’t see any Jetpack connections under the account you’re using to post to this thread.

If you need more help regarding the Jetpack error you’re getting, I suggest contacting Jetpack directly:

    https://jetpack.com/support/

    https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/

Hi again, https://joelsblog.com.ng/ WordPress site is a non WordPress.COM hosted one, hosted behind CloudFlare.com using DNS from DomainKing.ng. Your query will get the correct support over on the WordPress.ORG’s support forum where there will be people who can help with your WordPress.ORG ‘sefl-hosted’ site.

For more info on the differences in case it’s not clear, please check out this page: difference between .COM & .ORG sites .

    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Hi hechimenum,

joelsblog.com.ng is not hosted with us. The only three sites under your WordPress.com account hosted here are:

    naijanewspaperblog.wordpress.com
    ihechizblogerz.wordpress.com
    ihechizblog.wordpress.com

Please read the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org (self-hosted):

  • Hi sungira,

Looks like you’re on the wrong forum. It appears that you’re using the self-hosted version of WordPress and you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums:

    https://wordpress.org/support/

These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:
