Help! Need API Key for my Hosted account, Can’t find…

  HI,

  I have a hosted WP Blog http://www.MichaelRoland.com/spirituality AND I have a WP account with an API Key. When I started my hosted blog, I did not have a WP account.

  Do I need to link them in some way so that I can use the API Key with askimet?

  I’m having a terrible time trying to get my blog working on YouTube.

  Any help would be appreciated Thanks.

  I have read dozens of support and forum posts. I’m not able to figure out how to get an API Key for my existing hosted WP Blog

  API keys come from wordpress.COM and you nhave to have an account (but not a blog) here to get one. It is in “your profile” in the dashboard when you are signed in.

  You should be able to simply activate the Akismet plugin on your blog and it will then ask you to provide your API key. Once you do that it should work. At least that is what worked for me.

  It was password issue on with YouTube.

  I have two accounts some how when I was first using this service. one was Buffalohair Gazette International, the other was Buffalohair’s Blog

  One has a small b in the username (Buffalohairs Blog}

  The other one used a large B in the user name (Buffalohair Gazette International)

  The Buffalohair Gazette International account is the main blog and somehow someway I was asked for the API number today. For some reason I can’t get into the account at WordPress to get the API Key for this account.

  The explanation I get I get is because someone somewhere consolidated both accounts. Now I don’t have an API for this account. only the Buffalohair Blog account. Does this make sense?

  Or, I just need the API for the Gazette or a way to get into the big B Buffalohair account.

  Will the wordpress.COM API key work with our wordpress blog hosted by a 3rd party hosting company for linking the blog to youtube? If not, where/how can we get one to link to youtube?

  I started with a wp.com account (Insideconversation.wordpress.com), then I moved to my first hosted WP blog (equintconsulting.com). I was able to set up Akismet with the API key from my wp.com account. Now I have a second WP hosted blog (decision3d.com), with a different host, and when I use the API key it says the key is invalid. What now?
