Help! Need to Add Custom Image Header – Unsleepable Theme
-
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to remove my current header and replace it with a custom image header (with the image acting as a link to the home page of my blog). I am using Unsleepable by Ben Gray and cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove it. I’d like to know that this is possible to do before I purchase the CSS Upgrade. I am very happy with this theme and am not really interested in switching to another theme. Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

It’s not recommended that you buy the annually renewable CSS upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own. If you have CSS editing experience you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function so you can do your editing without having it go live on your blog until you have completed your work. Please be sure to read this article before starting your editing > http://csswiz.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/if-you-have-the-wp-com-css-upgrade/
Also note that CSS is theme specific here at wordpress.com, there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, please be patient while waiting for a Volunteer to help you. :)

With unsleepable you have the section to the left where the title is now, which is 100px tall and expands in width depending on the length of the site title. If you are talking about the entire black area at the top, do note that the top navigation buttons overlay that black area and are transparent, so depending on the nature of the image, they might be very difficult to see. They can of course be restyled with the CSS, but then that sort of takes away from that unique part of unsleepable

Thanks everyone for your help! I figured it out :) now all I need to do is create my header image!

Don’t forget that those who are logged into wordpress.com and viewing your blog will have a navigation bar bar at the top so you will need to take that into consideration when you make your header image.
thesacredpath can tell you the exact height of the navigation bar. I have forgotten what it is. (20 pixels? maybe ?)
