    Hi Arun,

Thanks for installing Jetpack, I’ve transferred your stats over to diariodoindiano.com :)

I see lots of posts like this, so this may be the best way to request that stats be migrated?

I recently moved my site to a new server, and need my stats migrated. Will this also move my MailChimp forms?

The old site is 52.206.168.42 the new site is 52.173.31.73 (thefamilynexus.com).

    Thank you.

  • davidrtaylor96 – I would contact Mailchimp directly to see what the best option is for smoothly migrating their forms. Can you tell me the URL of the old site?

Thanks for the advice on Mailchimp.

Same URL different IP address (which I provided in the question).

The old site is 52.206.168.42 the new site is 52.173.31.73 (thefamilynexus.com).

    Thanks!

  • Got it. I’d imagine with it being the same URL they’ve probably got an option for you. Can you get in touch with them?

On our end, as long as you’re connecting from the very same domain (no www added and what not) it should just work, no need to transfer anything. But if you have any trouble with it, let us know and we’ll check that out for you.

On the new IP address (same domain) I only have stats from April 23, 2018 when I made the move. All historical stats (and followers) are still stuck with 52.206.168.42.

Please let me know if there is anything I need to do so I don’t lose all the stats. The old IP address will be shut down soon.

  • Oh I see. You’ve got the sites connected with IP addresses rather than domain names, so they aren’t registering as the same site at all.

Are you going to use a domain on the live site? I’ve moved your stats from the old IP, but they may be lost again when you correct the domain name (which I recommend doing anyway.) We can help get them back again once that’s done.

    So here’s what to do:

    – Head to your site settings
    – Adjust the URL so it’s not just an IP address
    – Reconnect Jetpack

And then if you need your stats fixed again, let us know.

Somehow we are miscommunicating via this forum thread. The URL is not just an IP address.

The original site http://thefamilynexus.com had a DNS entry directing traffic to the WordPress site hosted at 52.206.168.42. The DNS entry has been changed to direct to the new WordPress site (hosted at 52.173.31.73).

They are both using the same domain name, but all JetPack stats prior to the move to the new IP address. It sounds like you are saying it should just work, and yet it isn’t. Which is why I posted this question in the first place.

  • The only sites I can see on your account list IP addresses instead of names. If they aren’t connected under another account, you need to refresh the connection as outlined above so their name, rather than their IP, shows up on our side.

In any case I have consolidated the stats under the new IP address, so if that’s enough for you that’s fine, too.
