  if I buy a domain and at the time of renewal(say after one year) if no balance is there in my account then what will happen??

  Hi there,

  In the case you mention above, the domain will not renew and your site might become unavailable or default to the free domain provided by WordPress.com.
  You may lose some features and functionality on your site.
  Let’s just say you do not want that to happen if you know you still want to use that domain especially considering the process of recovering is just way too painful and a bot costly. You can read more about that here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/
