Help Needed: Email Change Stuck in Pending – Need to Transfer Site Ownership

    Hi WordPress Support,

    I’m reaching out for assistance with an email change issue on my WordPress.com account.

    I’m the current administrator of the website associated with the Taylor House WordPress account (thetaylor-house.com), but the original account email still belongs to the previous owner. I’ve attempted multiple times over the past year to change the email address to my own, but the verification email never arrived (and is not in my spam or promotions folders).

    As a result, the account is now stuck with my email in a “pending verification” state, and I’m unable to fully complete the change. Now, I need to transfer ownership of the account to a new owner, but cannot do so because of the unresolved email issue. She tried to send the verification email to herself, and it still shows as “pending” for her as well, and she never received.

    Could you please help us with updating the account email to the buyer’s email address (which I can provide upon request).

      I’m happy to verify my identity or account ownership in any way you require.

      Thank you so much for your response! Can you clarify- this is a site built on WordPress and I log into a WordPress account to manage posts. So why wouldn’t WordPress be able to help with the WordPress account admin email change?
      It sounds like it’s an issue with the hosting, correct? When I purchased the site, I was recommended by the broker to change the hosting to BigScoots. I am not sure what the original owner used, but I believe it was Orange Geek. How would that create an issue with the account email? Is this then an issue BigScoots would be able to resolve?

      Did you refer to thetaylor-house.com as the website where you’re experiencing the issue? If so, it looks like you’re using self-hosted WordPress, not WordPress.com.
