Dear all,
Does anyone know how can I import my blog from New Blogger to WordPress? All help is appreciated.
Thanks and regards.

Less than 24 hours after Blogger Beta went big folks were showing up here expecting the wpcom coders had already created an importer for a beta program in a state of flux. Those who got the heck out before they were beta-d (I know that’s not a word) are smiling. Those that didn’t feel desperate and we sympathize with their situation. The wp staff no doubt have wpcom priorities and where this is on that list we don’t know.
-
WPcom priorities, eh? This is a WP issue. If it weren’t, we wouldn’t be here asking.
Folks should also know that the workaround listed above won’t import comments.
-
That’s why I said posts. It’s better than nothing. :)
I would suggest sending in a feedback and make this suggestion. That way staff is aware of your concerns.
Please also remember that Blogger could offer an exporter themselves. Most blogging systems do so.

Thanks drmike. I was just trying to clarify for other potential users.
Blogger doesn’t have an exporting tool. I did send this in as a suggestion, but I’ll do so again. It can’t hurt. Thanks again.

I was actually surprised to see that Blogger doesn’t do an exporter nor an importer. Most systems do now a days.
-
Gu5t, I’m glad to hear someone else is pushing for it, too. Perhaps if enough of us do, it will take a higher priority.
-
I’m wondering if the Blogger staff are getting the same requests on their end on a daily basis to provide a blog exporter, as we volunteers on this forum, who can do nothing about this, are getting here?
-
You can’t request anything from Blogger.
Well, you can request it, but you might as well just go outside and talk to a tree. The tree would help you before Blogger responded.

The creator of Medium Large has done a couple of comics on Blogger’s tech support. He doesn’t think much of it either.
But, hey! They’re owned by Google. What ever they’re doing must be correct! :)

Wow, that is some serious copyright infringement going on there. Charles Schulz must be spinning in his grave.
-
FYI: The right to satire has been enshrined in US federal law and been upheld in court on many, many occasions. This use clearly falls under that category, and as such is not copyright infringement.
-
Sorry, you are incorrect about that. Those cartoons are not satires in any legal sense of the word. They are a misappropriation of someone else’s creation, and a very clear copyright violation. There is no court in the US that would rule otherwise, I assure you.

Here’s a good primer on the subject, to which copyright attorneys frequently refer:
http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.htmlSee #6 re “derivative works”. Parody *of* a Peanuts cartoon constitutes fair use. The use of Peanuts characters to parody something else, by putting different words in the frames, is an infringement.
The same would be true if the artist used characters from Seinfeld or South Park or any other work. You can parody the work itself, but you can’t use the characters in a parody of your own. Not legally, anyway. You have to do the hard work of creating your own characters yourself.
