Help needed with Edin theme

    Hi everyone,

    I am completely new to WordPress and am finding it extremely confusing to set up a portfolio site. I installed the Edin theme but all it shows me is a default white and red page. I have created a static front page but I still have nothing showing up on my homepage. I have gone through the tutorial on how to customise the theme a lot of times but I’m still confused.

    Isn’t the default background supposed to be the image shown in the thumbnail of the theme (the laptop and everything)? Why do I still get a white and red background?

    What is this featured image all about?

    To make a About page my static homepage, do I create a new page, or do I use the text widget?

    What should the ideal resolution for the background image be? And is there any way to make the text box transparent so the background is visible?

    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
