Help! No longer have page templates in Academica. What do I do?
-
I’ve upgraded and now, when i tried to add a new page there are no page templates to select from, which was one reason I chose the Academica theme. And a number of the pages I had originally set to default page template now show full width. Upon trying to change the template, nothing happens. What is going on and how do I fix this? Can’t do anything with it like this.
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I know how to create pages -if you looked at the website, you would see I’ve created a number pages. The problem is, all of a sudden in the “add a page” section, the Page Attribute box doesn’t show. If I go up to screen options and select “Page Attributes” it will show but immediately disappears when page is updated. What’s worse is the the page attributes is not working. It does not let me change the page template and the default template is now a full width template, where originally it was a 3 column (2 sidebars). The page templates are not working at all. I tried activating another theme then reactivating Academica but this didn’t do anything.
Did upgrading to the CSS custom design make this theme not work properly? As we are a non-profit educational organization, the Academica theme was perfect for our needs.
Any help is very much appreciated!
Blurb from Academica description:
Page Templates: Academica is all about your pages! In addition to page-only widget areas, it comes with three choices of page templates: Sidebar Left, Sidebar Right and Full Width, for even more individuality and flexibility. -
Please see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/#template
The Page Attributes module allows you to set page parents and templates, and to change the order of your pages. If you do not see it then click “screen options” http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right hand corner of the page and include the missing module.

Thank you! I thought I found the perfect theme for us and was learning CSS and making simple changes. I hope they can fix this!
Do themes just develop glitches like this?

Howdy! I am seeing page templates on your site, and they’re working properly on my test site now. It’s possible this was a temporary bug. Are you still having this problem?
If so, could you please take a screenshot of your edit post screen and Page Attributes area, so we can see what it looks like when the page templates are missing? Thanks! You can find instructions for making a screenshot here:

Did upgrading to the CSS custom design make this theme not work properly?
The Custom Design upgrade won’t affect the page templates in the Academica theme. Please reply back here if you are still having any trouble with it.
